OMSFIRE (OMSs for Innovation, Research & Education) recognizes donors who commit to the Annual Fund for five years. OMS360’s Bronze OMSFIRE commitment will help to support a diverse array of OMS-specific research and education programs in 2022-2027. The Foundation’s 2022 programs portfolio includes 5 research projects, addressing anesthesia safety and training, non-narcotic pain management strategies for third molar patients, the interaction of immunity and infection, applying artificial intelligence to risk assessment for cranio facial surgery candidates and 3D bioprinting for cancer research.
Mary DiCarlo of OMSFIRE noted that in 2022 that their donor partners, including OMS360, “helped to support AAOMS’2022 Resident Transitions into Practice conference this past February and will support the Clinical Trials Methods Course May 4-6, including resident travel scholarships to CTMC. TheFoundation also collaborates with AAOMS to fund FEDA (Faculty EducatorDevelopment Award) grants each year, offering financial support and recognition to promising early-career OMS faculty.” Since its inception in 1959 the OMSFoundation has worked to advance the OMS specialty through support of innovative research, advanced education opportunities and academic excellence.
